Lampwork bead-making class by Wendy Allaman of Windblown Beads teaches you how to make your own handmade glass beads! Classes are $245 and include lunch, 4 hours of hands-on instruction AND a beginner kit that includes your torch and all the basic glass, tools and supplies to continue making hot glass on your own at home!
Wendy taught herself glass bead making 20 years ago from step-by-step instructions and color pictures. Her progress was slow (and painful) but she learned that even beginner beads are unique little works of art when you make them yourself! She also developed a unique and original method of making blown glass vessel necklaces, earrings and charms that contain tiny treasures like beach sand, sea glass, gemstones, crystals, dried grasses and flowers and more. This method Is demonstrated at her classes.
Her little log cabin studio and shop is in Oquawka, IL and is open by appointment by calling 309-221-5414. You can find photos of her work, cabin and videos of her classes on Facebook at Windblown Beads by Wendy Allaman and Instagram at windblown_beads.
